Coorie by nature
Coorie is the Scots art of cosy — of comfort, warmth and belonging. Every box is designed to give you that feeling in an afternoon: a blanket, a brew and a wee taste of home.
Caledonia Box began with a simple ache — the longing for home you feel three thousand miles from the glen. We bottle a wee bit of Scotland each month and post it to homesick hearts the world over.
How it started
Our founders, Iona and Ross, met while living abroad — one in Toronto, one in Melbourne — both Scots far from home. They swapped the same longing over crackly video calls: for the snap of real shortbread, the sweetness of tablet, the smell of wool drying by a fire, the sound of rain on a Highland window.
When care packages from their mums stopped feeling like enough, they started curating their own — filling boxes with goods from the wee makers back home and posting them to friends across the diaspora. The thank-you notes said the same thing every time: this made me feel hame again.
So they came back to Edinburgh, set up a table, and turned that feeling into Caledonia Box. Today we work with a growing family of independent Scottish makers to send that same wee lift of home to over forty countries.

What we believe
More than shortbread and tartan — every Caledonia Box carries a set of promises. Here's what we stand for.
Coorie is the Scots art of cosy — of comfort, warmth and belonging. Every box is designed to give you that feeling in an afternoon: a blanket, a brew and a wee taste of home.
We only ever pack goods made in Scotland by independent producers — the family bakeries, croft weavers and wee distilleries who keep our crafts alive. No fillers, no imports, no tourist tat.
From Vancouver to Auckland, we ship a piece of Scotland to the diaspora the world over. Distance shouldn't mean disconnection from the place that made you.
We curate for quality over quantity — a handful of genuinely braw things you'll savour, in recyclable packaging with recipe cards and maker stories, so nothing feels disposable.
Meet the makers
Behind every item is a real person — a fourth-generation baker in Ayrshire, a weaver on the Isle of Harris, a marmalade-maker who folds in a dram of single malt. When you open a Caledonia Box, you're keeping their craft alive and their kitchen table set.
We visit our makers, tell their stories on the card tucked inside, and pay them fairly for beautiful work. It's a wee economy of pride, and you're the heart of it.
From here, to you
Iona & Ross return to Edinburgh and post the very first boxes from a kitchen table — twelve of them, to friends across four countries.
We partner with our first Highland bakery and Harris weaver, and move into a wee workshop in Leith.
Worldwide shipping opens up — from Canada to New Zealand — and the maker family passes fifty.
