Where do you ship, and what does it cost?
Everywhere we can reach — we currently post to over 40 countries. Shipping is charged on top of your box (it's the honest way to keep the box itself great value), and the rate depends on where in the world you're coorie-ing:
UK — £9.95 · Europe — £16.95 · US & rest of world — £24.95 per box.

When will my box actually arrive?
Boxes are packed and posted in the first week of each month. Order by midnight on the 25th to be in that month's dispatch — after that, you'll be first in the queue for the next one.
From Edinburgh, UK parcels usually land in 2–4 working days, Europe in 5–8, and the US & rest of world in 7–14. You'll get a tracking link by email the moment your box leaves the shed.
Will I have to pay customs or import duty?
For most destinations, no — our boxes sit under the usual gift/low-value thresholds. A few countries (and larger prepaid boxes) can occasionally attract a small local charge on delivery, which is set by your own customs office rather than us.

What's actually in a Caledonia Box?
A hand-curated mix of 5–7 items from 100% Scottish makers, wrapped like a proper gift. Expect all-butter shortbread, a slab of tablet, small-batch whisky marmalade, a bit of tartan or lambswool, an artisan craft or two, a wee dram sample, and a printed card telling the story of that month's makers.
It's a mystery box on purpose — half the joy is the reveal — but every month has a loose theme (a region, a season, a festival like Burns Night or the Highland Games).
Is there always a dram in the box? What if I don't drink?
Most boxes include a small whisky or gin sample from a Scottish distillery — but it's never the whole show. If you'd rather go alcohol-free, tick "no dram, please" at checkout and we'll swap it for an extra treat (a botanical soda, a tablet upgrade, or a maker's chocolate).
Any box containing alcohol ships only to adults (18+) in regions where that's permitted, and may need a signature on delivery.
The value looks generous — what's each box worth?
Boxes start at £34/month, and the curated contents are typically worth noticeably more at retail than you pay — because we buy directly from the makers and pass the value on. The longer your plan, the better it gets: 12-month prepay saves around 15%.
Do you cater for allergies and dietary needs?
We do our best. At checkout you can flag gluten, nuts, dairy and let us know if you're vegetarian or vegan, and we'll tailor the edible items where a Scottish maker's alternative exists.
An important honest note: our boxes are packed in a shed that handles gluten, milk, nuts and other allergens, so we can't guarantee a box is entirely free from traces. If you have a serious or life-threatening allergy, please email us first and we'll talk you through exactly what's safe.
Where do I find the ingredients for each item?
Every edible comes with its maker's full ingredient and allergen labelling on-pack, and the printed story card lists each product with a link back to the maker. If you'd like the month's ingredient run-down before your box ships, just ask and we'll send it over.
Can I send a box as a gift?
That's what half our boxes are for. Choose a one-off gift box or a prepaid 3, 6 or 12-month gift subscription, add a handwritten-style message, and we'll post it straight to your loved one — no prices anywhere in the parcel. Start on our Send a Gift page.
Sending to someone with Scottish roots overseas? It's our favourite kind of order. Pick their delivery country and we'll handle the shipping from there.
Can I choose when the gift arrives?
Aye. At checkout you can pick the month you'd like the first box to land — perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or a "just because you miss home." We'll email you a wee heads-up before it dispatches so you can add a note if you like.
How do the plans work — and can I cancel?
We offer monthly rolling plus 3, 6 and 12-month plans (the longer, the better the value). Monthly rolling can be paused or cancelled any time from your account before the 25th — no hoops, no hard feelings.
Prepaid plans run for their fixed term and then simply stop unless you choose to renew, so you're never caught out by a surprise charge.
Something was missing or arrived damaged — what now?
We're genuinely sorry — email hello@caledoniabox.com with your order number and a quick photo, and we'll put it right straight away with a replacement or a credit. Wee makers, big care.
Can I change my address or skip a month?
Of course. Update your delivery address, dietary preferences or skip an upcoming box any time from your account — just make the change before the 25th so it lands in the right dispatch. Moving country? We can follow you.
